How Name Day Works
1. Check the board (or this page)
Every day we post one boy name and one girl name.
2. Match the name
If your first name matches either name for today, you get a free scoop.
3. Show ID
Just show a valid ID with your name. One free scoop per person, one flavor, kiddie size. No sharing names, no exceptions.
4. Birthday bonus
If today is actually your birthday, you get a free scoop regardless of the name board.
Why Name Days?
In Finland, people often celebrate their Name Day as well as their birthday. We’ve borrowed the idea and created our own daily list using popular American first names.
So whether it’s your Name Day or your birthday, you have a chance at a free scoop.
Jäätski Tonttu
In Finnish folklore, a tonttu is a small household spirit, a helpful guardian that watches over the home and brings good luck.
Ours is named Jäätski Tonttu (Ice Cream Tonttu). You’ll find him on the boards at both entrances every day. He announces the Name Day winners and the Flavor of the Week.

Caught a Fish Today?
Named it after today’s Name Day winner?
Fish the St. Johns River, Lake George, Rodman Reservoir, or local lakes around Palatka? Bring a photo of your catch (named after today’s boy or girl name) and get a free topping on your paid order.
Photo must be from that day. One topping per photo. Yes, we mean the nickname you gave the fish.
